GUITAR
Albuquerque
Guitar Albuquerque (GA) is a meeting place for the
vast guitar community in Albuquerque. Here, the guitar has a long
history starting with Hector Garcia founding the first degree granting
guitar program in the Western U.S. at the University of Albuquerque and
then later founding the program at the University of New Mexico (UNM).
Michael
Chapdelaine has continued this work at
UNM. Their students
populate the leading institutions in the Southwest and exude a tremendous
vitality and enthusiasm for the instrument.

established guitar community and bring a common ground where young
guitarists, guitar aficionados, and professionals can meet.”
GA artistic directors
Benjamin Silva
and Joseph
Williams carry with them the knowledge and experience necessary to
pursue this endeavor. They have performed in three continents and in
various setting from chamber music to solo recitals, won prizes in
numerous competitions and are part of the national guitar community.
They teach at many of the areas top music programs: among these are the
University of New Mexico,
New Mexico School of Music,
Public Academy for Performing Arts, and
Adams State College.

Seating is limited and is GENERAL
ADMISSION (meaning no assigned seating), and availability is first-come first-served
for those people without reservations...
